Ghanaian music icon Samini is set to make his acting debut in the upcoming movie "The Storm", which premieres in September.
The Storm, directed by Ben Owusu will premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024 in Kumasi.
In the gripping Ghanaian thriller, "The Storm", Samini takes on the role of Ali Zafara, a ruthless and feared leader of the Southern Crime underworld. Joining him in this intense drama are an ensemble cast of talented actors, including Ama K. Abebrese, Adjetey Anang, Fiifi Coleman, Salma Mumin, Edward Agyakum Kuffuor, and Luckie Lawson.
Set in Accra, "The Storm" delves into the dark underbelly of the city, exposing a world of crime, murder, kidnapping, and corruption. Amidst this chaos, Detectives Danso (Adjetey Anang) and Lynn (Ama K. Abebrese) stand as the only honest members of the law enforcement team, fighting for justice.
Meanwhile, social advocate Milly (Luckie Lawson) emerges as a powerful voice against crime, championing the protection of young people. Her tireless efforts propel her to overnight fame, positioning her as a rival to the President, Edward Agyekum Kufuor.
